Eiki Ito was born in Yonezawa, Yamagata prefecture, in northern Japan. He studied at the Sokei Art and Design School, specializing in the techniques of the Flanders School of Arts.
Eiki has a restless, entrepreneurial spirit. For many years, he has successfully ventured into the food service industry, the manufacturing of riding boots and the breeding of horses in León, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. This city ―set in a region on the Mexican Plateau called Bajío, much beloved by Eiki― is where his passion for painting was reignited and where he began his artistic career in the 80’s. Nowadays, he continues to further develop his career with great eagerness and enthusiasm, imbuing his work with extraordinary, overflowing creativity and originality that keep surprising us every day.
